CREATIVE MOVEMENT

Introduction to dance and song. Focus on basic ballet techniques, rhythm, and timing to music. Dancers will begin learning proper ballet and classroom etiquette.

  • Age 3
  • 30 minutes

Class Attire: Leotard, tights, pink leather ballet shoes

PRE-DANCE I

Includes ballet and tap. Builds on techniques learned in Creative Movement and learn dance vocabulary. 

  • ages 4-5
  • 45 minutes

Class Attire: Leotard, tights, pink leather ballet shoes, black tap shoes

PRE-DANCE II

Introduction to the dance environment of proper etiquette and vocabulary, while teaching techniques in ballet and tap.

  • ages 5-6
  • 45 minutes 

Class Attire: Leotard, tights, pink leather ballet shoes, black tap shoes

Music Theatre

Performers will be taught the three disciplines of musical theater: singing, acting, dancing. 

  • Level I: ages 6-9
  • Level II: ages 10+
  • 60 minutes

Class Attire: Athletic wear such as leggings or shorts, a fitted shirt, black jazz shoes

ACADEMY I and II

BALLET: Focus in classical ballet structure. Dancers define poise and posture, then move to the barre for body placement, proper technique, and flexibility. Skills will then be used across the floor.

  • Level I: ages 6-7
  • Level II: ages 8-11 
  • 45 minutes

Class Attire: Leotard, tights, pink leather ballet shoes

 

TAP/JAZZ: Introduction to the elements of sound in tap. Across the floor and center combinations help develop coordination and rhythm. Focus on flexibility and different styles of jazz dance, such as modern and lyrical jazz.

  • Level I: ages 6-7
  • Level II: ages 8-11
  • 60 minutes

Class Attire: Leather jazz shoes, black tap shoes, leotard, tights

 

HIP HOP: Blend urban and freestyle moves into choreography. 

  • Level I: ages 6-9
  • Level II: ages 10+
  • Level III: ages 13+

Class Attire: Athletic clothing, tennis shoes

LYRICAL I

Combines techniques of classical ballet, modern dance with current forms of popular dance. Dancers learn precision, rhythm, physical challenges, personal style and expression particularly with lyrically expressive songs. Exercises focus on increasing flexibility, strength, rhythms, isolation of body parts. 

  • Level I: ages 8+
  • 45 minutes 

Class Attire: Leotard, leggings or tights with dance shorts, leather lyrical shoes

ACADEMY III and IV

Tap, ballet and jazz are offered as separate classes to focus on a specific discipline designed for the intermediate to advanced dancers. 

  • BALLET: Commences with barre work to reinforce technical training from Levels I and 11. 
    • ages 12+
    • 45 minutes 
    • Class Attire: Pink leather ballet shoes, black tap shoes, black leather jazz shoes, leotard, tights
  • JAZZ: Contemporary jazz dance is introduced.
    • ages 12+
    • 45 minutes 
    • Class Attire: Leather jazz shoes, black tap shoes, leotard, tights
  • TAP: Modern and street style blend of tap. 
    • ages 12+
    • 45 minutes
