Evan, Greater Wichita YMCA

Evan Eisenman, Personal Trainer

Born on June 27, 1990, I spent many years searching for a place—and a career—where I truly felt I belonged. Along the way, I had the opportunity to serve in several meaningful roles. My most impactful experiences were in the Army as part of a cannon crew, followed by work in EMS, Fire, and ultimately as a police officer. While I found purpose in each of these positions, I deeply missed my family and the time we shared. That realization led me to step away and see where life would take me next.

Life took me on an unexpected journey that brought me back to weightlifting—a passion that had always grounded and motivated me. Wanting to give that same sense of strength, discipline, and confidence back to my community, I applied to the Newton YMCA, where I was welcomed with open arms. Since then, I have earned my personal training certification and now have the opportunity to guide others who share a passion for weightlifting, helping them lift safely, grow stronger, and build confidence in themselves.

One of my biggest goals at the Newton YMCA is to launch a group fitness program for Veterans.
