Catherine Seals, Branch Director, Farha Sports Centers

Catherine graduated in December 2008 from Wichita State University, earning her MA in Sports Administration. Catherine began working for the YMCA in June 2007 as a Site Supervisor at the Farha Sport Center. She joined the West YMCA in November 2009 as the Sports Coordinator, before coming back to work as the Sports Director at the South YMCA & Farha Sport Center in January 2011. In 2014, she transitioned to full time Director of Basketball Operations until May 2018 before accepting the role of Senior Program Director. She remained in that role until January 2021, when she accepted the role of Branch Director at YMCA Farha Sport Center.

Ace Scott, Administrative Assistant

Ace is a graduate of CNM’s EMT-Basic and Intermediate programs with an associate degree in Integrated Studies. She has held multiple leadership positions in service-based environments across the last 8 years. She worked as a full-time EMT in Albuquerque, New Mexico for several years before sustaining an injury that ultimately led to her hanging up the ambulance keys. Her passion for helping people and her personal goals of making a positive impact in the community have remained strong. Ace married her Star Wars-loving husband on May the 4th (Yes, the wedding was themed!) and returned to Wichita in 2023 to be closer to her loving grandparents and aunt. Ace began her career with the Greater Wichita YMCA in November the same year. A nerd at heart, her favorite hobbies include table-top gaming, reading, and crochet. Her personal motto is “If you find yourself stressed about something that can be fixed, there’s no point in worrying. If it can’t be fixed, there’s no use in worrying. Do your best either way.”

Matt graduated in 2019 from Wichita State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Sports Management. He previously worked at the Great Bend Recreation Commission in various roles before moving to Wichita for school. Throughout his time in Wichita he has worked at the Wichita Country Club, Rolling Hills Country Club, and volunteered multiple summers with the NBC World Series.

Brian is a graduate of Wichita State University with an Undergrad degree in Sport Management. Brian is finishing up his Masters in sport management this June from Southern New Hampshire University. A lifelong sport enthusiast Brian has played and worked in sports his whole life. Brian was the Sports Director at the Garden City Family YMCA from 2016-2020. Brian’s passion for sports started when he played youth soccer in his hometown of Americus, KS and only grew from there. Brian’s goal is to grow the Youth Advanced soccer league and give the kids in his league a safe an fun environment to showcase their skills.

Sydnee Johnston-Getchell, Volleyball Director

Sydnee has had a lifelong passion for volleyball, playing since she was just 10 years old and up to the collegiate level. She played volleyball at Bethel College, where she majored in Natural Science. After ending her volleyball career at Bethel, she transferred to Kansas State University where she continued her education in Health and Nutrition. Despite the ending of her volleyball career as a player, she found a new passion in volleyball for coaching. Her passion for volleyball took to new heights. She approaches life the same way she approaches volleyball, growth and development is key to success. She has the drive, grit, and determination to make every experience at the YMCA an impactful one.
