Grab your kids, a handful of common ingredients, and 15-20 minutes for a kid-friendly cooking session to make FUNKY FACED PIZZAS.

This week Tammi Krier, our Healthy Eating Director, takes you through an easy, affordable, delicious, kid-friendly recipe for FUNKY FACED PIZZAS - snack or light meal that can be made in minutes with ingredients typically found around the house.

INGREDIENTS (Per Pizza)

  • 1 whole wheat English Muffin (halved) or pita bread
  • 2 tbsp. pizza/marinara sauce
  • ¼ c. Mozzarella cheese
  • Toppings to create your face (ex: sliced and/or “coined” veggies, pepperoni, sliced olives, etc.)

DIRECTIONS

  • Wash hands and prep area and preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Wash/cut veggies and toppings (as needed).
  • Spread sauce on each half an English muffin or face of pita
  • Top with cheese.
  • Add toppings to form a funky face.
  • Place pizza(s) on greased baking sheet.
  • Bake until cheese is melted (approximately 10-12 minutes).
  • Allow to cool for a few minutes before enjoying.
