The Greater Wichita YMCA is committed to Youth Development, improving youth literacy and educational success, and ensuring that all children have access to resources and programs that empower them to pursue healthy spirit, mind, and body. To facilitate those pursuits, we are the region's largest provider of Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) licensed Child Care services. In 2018 we, served 1,500 children daily* and over 9,000 total children* with our Child Care programs - and will serve more in 2019.

Our programs are designed to help kids get an early start on learning, self-development, and socialization. In the interest of ensuring access for all - we offer ability-to-pay-based pricing for all licensed child care programs and Financial Assistance for those who qualify.

The Greater Wichita YMCA's also offers academic support to select students through Y SCHOLARS⁠—a partnership with local school districts to mitigate summer learning loss and support reading proficiency by third grade. While not part of our licensed child care programming, the Greater Wichita YMCA - through its Community Development branch and Youth and Family staff at branch locations - offer additional support to parents who need safe, engaging, fun places for kids including:
